In the hard times and the good, God is always with us, always seeking to communicate with us. Our Catholic Church has so many ways and approaches to prayer. This extended time of being at home, like it or not, provides us with an unprecedented opportunity to focus on what is truly important. In these days let's turn to God in hope and faith, as we pray for our world, and ourselves. On this page you'll find many ways to help you deepen in your relationship with Jesus.
Every Sunday from July 5th at 8pm you are invited to Night Prayer
Password to log into the meeting: pray
Our time of prayer will be led by a range of people who worship in one of the three churches that make Bognor & Slindon parish.
How will we pray? Each week will probably be slightly different depending on who is leading. Some will be Compline, which is part of the Divine Office, the official set of prayers of the Roman Catholic Church "marking the hours of each day and sanctifying the day with prayer". It consists mostly of psalms, hymns, readings and other prayers. All Catholic religious communities and priests pray the Office, as well as countless others as well. Everyone who is praying Compline (the formal name for Night Prayer) each evening is worshiping and petitioning God is the exact same way! That's thousands of us praying together. |

Novena to the Holy Spirit
Jesus promises the Holy Spirit, sent by the Father, as an advocate, as the spirit of truth, as power, so that the Church can proclaim the Good News to the whole world. Over eight days let's seek and prepare for this great gift by sharing in our Novena – literally, a form of prayer spread over eight days.
Everything you need to mark these eight days can be found on www.bognorcatholicparish.co.uk/pentecost-novena |
Pray as you go
A daily prayer session (based the spiritual exercises of Ignatius of Loyala) to help us pray each day at a time which suits us best. Lasting between ten and thirteen minutes, it combines music, scripture and some questions for reflection to enable us to:
▪ become more aware of God's presence in our life ▪ listen to and reflect on God's word ▪ grow in our relationship with God It can be accessed through both the spoken and the written word. www.pray-as-you-go.org |

Let's talk about this Sunday's scripture readings
Every Friday the Catholic Bible School publishes questions which can be used to prompt conversations about the Scripture Readings for Sunday's Mass. You could use them with your family and others in your home, or use them for personal reflection.
www.catholic-bible-school.org/sundays The Catholic Bible school is a charity that works with people of all ages and all denominations bringing the words of the Bible off the page and into our lives. Their dynamic, interactive and innovative presentation about God and his word, as revealed to us in the book we call the Bible, has helped many encounter Jesus in the Scriptures and apply the words of The Book to their everyday lives. As well as resources they provide Bible Weekends for Parishes, workshops, retreats, teaching and training, speakers, prayer experiences, INSET, across England and Wales. |
